Program: Bachelor of Regional and Town Planning
Country of Origin: Malaysia

UQ was always my first choice because of its remarkable reputation overseas. I especially love Brisbane - it offers a special experience that is in many ways different from Malaysia, but I did not have trouble settling in. It is a great place to live and study. I am also very proud to be able to study in such a beautiful campus.

Studying planning at UQ has equipped me with extensive knowledge of urban planning theories and practical skills in working with different people. My program offers ample opportunities to participate in group projects and develop strong communication and problem-solving skills that will continue to benefit my future. I especially appreciate being taught by academic staff who are committed to sharing their expertise, knowledge and resources. My supervisors and peers during my honours year were particularly helpful and supportive and have challenged me to stretch and grow.

Now that I have completed my planning degree at UQ, I would like to pursue my planning career in a construction firm or consultancy in my hometown. Having received planning education in Australia I believe that I will be able to bring international perspectives and knowledge of planning to a local context.
