UQ Awards and Citations for Excellence in Teaching

The UQ awards are split into three categories to recognise the depth and breadth of the University's commitment to teaching and learning: 

  • Awards for Teaching Excellence worth $10,000 for each individual;
  • Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning worth $10,000 for each team;
  • Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning worth $4000 each for individuals or teams.

She does this through guiding the educational process for her students with her innovative learning designs and tailoring her teaching to take into account future developments in the agricultural sector. Her passion is to provide her students with a learning environment that is supportive, inclusive, engaging and set within real-world context.

  • A/Prof Gimme Walter, School of Life Sciences
    Gimme Walter is Associate Professor in the School of Life Sciences where his research focus is on integrated pest management and the ecology of agricultural pests.
    Gimme has successfully supervised to completion 20 PhD and 14 research masters' student's theses. Many of his students have moved into senior research or academic positions in Australia.
