Local Public Transport

Brisbane has a great public transport system which includes trains, buses and ferries that cover from the Gold Coast (south) through Brisbane to the Sunshine Coast (north). Many routes include the University campus.

The best way to use our public transport is to purchase a GoCard from a newsagency or the Translink machines at the UQ Lakes or Chancellors Place Bus stations. A GoCard costs $10 and can be topped up with funds online, via the Translink app, over the phone, at Campus News or Translink vending machines.

To plan your trip, you can use the Translink journey planner.
