Maddison Keeney and Biance HammettUQ Faculty of Science community members can help two of our potential Olympic superstars by sending messages of support.

UQ Science sporting stars Maddison Keeney and Bianca Hammett are among eight University of Queensland students and graduates representing Australia at next month’s Rio Olympics from 5 to 21 August.

Maddison, who is a Bachelor of Science student and a UQ Sport Achievement Scholarship holder, will make her Olympics debut in the diving (three metre springboard and the three metre springboard synchronised). 

Her key sporting highlights include a silver medal in the Women’s one metre springboard, and a bronze medal in the Women’s Synchronised three metre springboard at the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games.

Bianca is studying a Bachelor of Applied Science.

She is Australia’s Synchronised Swimming captain and Rio will be her second Olympics – she was part of the team that placed eighth in the Women’s Team Event at the 2012 London Olympics.

She is a four times Australian world championships representative.
