What is a study planner and how do I use it?

Step 1: Select your first year courses

Below you will find study planners for each program. Read the study plans for the fields that interest you and note the courses (subjects) listed for that major.

Step 2: If you need advice or assistance

If you need advice or assistance try one (or all) of these options:

  • Make an appointment with an academic advisor (call 3365 1888). Book early to avoid the rush.
  • Drop-in to see an Enrolment Assistant for advice on enrolling and timetabling.
  • Email science.enquiries@uq.edu.au or phone 3365 1888 with your questions.

Step 3: Enrol in your courses

Follow the Enrolment Guide and use the task wizard in mySI-net to enrol in courses.

Step 4: Plan your timetable

Drop in to get assistance with planning your timetable and sign-on (see Orientation Guide). More information about timetable planning is available in the Enrolment Guide.

Step 5: Sign-on for classes

You must nominate via mySI-net which lecture stream, practical class and tutorial group you will attend.

  • Sign-on dates can be found in mySI-net. These are usually about 3 weeks before semester starts.
  • Drop-in to see an enrolment assistant if you need advice (Level 3, Building 69).

Step 6: Attend O-Week activities

Attend the Science Faculty Welcome and see your Orientation Guide for details of activities specific to your program.
