Student Support

UQ offers a range of support services to help you settle into university life.  These services address the individual needs of a whole range of students from diverse backgrounds, such as those from rural and remote areas or those who are the first in their family to attend university. Services include:

Academic Advice

Academic Advising Sessions are available via appointment through the Academic Office to discuss enrolment and course selection issues with academic staff. Advisors are able to answer questions on a broad range of topics including course selection and structure, choice of field of study, credit for previous studies, prerequisite courses, academic withdrawal, and exchange and study abroad studies.

Although advising sessions are available throughout the year, during popular advising periods appointment times can become limited so it is recommended to book early in semester. Appointments may be made by phone on 3365 1888 or personally at the Faculty Office on level 3, Building 69.

Credit

If you have completed studies at another institution or under another degree at the University of Queensland you may be eligible for credit. Applications for credit may be applied for by letter or email. Applications for credit from an external institution must be accompanied by a transcript and course descriptions.
