The Faculty of Science aims for UQ's science program to be recognised as Australia's best and of international significance
An exciting range of courses at both undergraduate and postgraduate level are taught by staff members who are undertaking research projects of high international standard. Graduates are prepared to address scientific problems in a systematic way, informed by literature and by a strong grounding in laboratory experimentation. A number of programs also offer significant field work experiences in both the terrestrial and marine environments. Science students have the opportunity to undertake an undergraduate research experience in their third year of study and the Honours year is dominated by a major individual research project. A vibrant cohort of PhD and M Phil students are also undertaking a wide range of exciting research projects. Science is, by its nature, international and students are encouraged to gain experience abroad as part of their degree or research project.
