Facilities

As one of Australia’s leading universities, UQ offers the latest equipment in some of the world’s finest research facilities.  Major government and corporate investment in infrastructure at UQ provides students with cutting-edge teaching and research resources. Students have access to excellent facilities in computer-based learning laboratories, practical laboratories, teaching museums and libraries.

The Faculty has a program to maintain and enhance the equipment and infrastructure required for discovery science. This is particularly important with respect to enabling technologies, such as bioinformatics and structural biology, which underpin research across our research themes.  The Faculty also has close associations with four major research institutes at UQ through affiliate appointments, joint operation of equipment and facilities, and a variety of collaborative projects. The institutes include

Field Stations

Heron Island Research Station, the largest research station on the Great Barrier Reef
Moreton Bay Research Station
Low Isles Research Station situated on the inner northern Great Barrier Reef
Pinjarra Aquatic Research Station

Boating and Diving
