UQ and Other Grant Schemes
General information on awards and grants available to staff for recognition and promotion of excellence in teaching and learning can be fournd here. These awards and grants play an important role in supporting innovation in teaching practice, as well as rewarding best practice.
In early 2011, the Australian Government announced its intention to cease funding the Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC). The Australian Learning and Teaching Council (ALTC - previously named the Carrick Institute for Learning and Teaching in Higher Education) was one of the major initiatives of the Commonwealth Government’s 2003 Our Universities – Backing Australia’s Future reform package and provided a national focus for the enhancement of learning and teaching in Australian higher education providers.
From 1 January 2012, the awards and grants functions of the ALTC will be administered by DEEWR Office of Learning and Teaching. UQ will continue to run internal selection and endorsement processes for each of the programs.
