Celebration of Science

Celebration of Science

In 2009, The University of Queensland (UQ) is proud to bring you all the colour, vibrance and excitement of science through its Celebration of Science program.

From March through to December 2009, celebrate the rich and diverse array of scientific work undertaken at UQ through a wide range of events, activities and showcases in the Celebration of Science program. Whether you’re a community member, student, scientist, professional or alumnus, the Celebration of Science offers something for all ages and interests.

At a time when humanity is confronted with some of the most important issues in history, the Celebration of Science brings to the fore the significant global and local impacts of UQ scientific discovery and outcomes. The development of alternative sources of fuel, better treatment for illness, eradication of disease, cheaper materials and energy sources, and the rehabilitation of the environment are just some of the groundbreaking projects UQ scientists and graduates are working on today.

The Celebration of Science is brought to you from across science at UQ and is a collaboration between the University’s Faculty of Science, Faculty of Natural Resources, Agriculture and Veterinary Science, the Institute for Molecular Bioscience, the Australian Institute for Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, the Queensland Brain Institute, and the Diamantina Institute for Cancer, Immunology and Metabolic Medicine.
